Home modifications are changes to a person’s house for their safety, mobility and independence.
A home modifications assessment can be used to secure NDIS funding and to manage the entire process of modifying your property.
What kinds of home modifications can be funded by the NDIS?
Minor Modifications
These are low-cost, simpler changes.

Grab rails
To help those with physical disabilities to perform more challenging transfers.

Ramps
For those who are at risk of falls or use wheelchairs for their mobility.

Non-slip flooring
For example, non-slip flooring could prevent falls on a wet bathroom floor.

Widened doorways
To enable access for certain mobility aids, like wheelchairs.

Handheld showers
To help those with physical disabilities to wash themselves.

Repositioned switches
For example, moving light switches or power points to a wheelchair-accessible height.

Lever taps
For those who have difficulty operating ordinary taps.
Complex Modifications
These are larger-scale and/or structural changes.

Bathroom redesigns
To remove tripping hazards and create an open-plan design.

Kitchen modifications
This could include lowered bench tops and accessible storage for those in wheelchairs.

Ceiling hoists
To help with transfers for those with major physical disabilities.

Stairlifts
For those who are unable to ascend or descend stairs.

Wall and door changes
This might include a major doorway widening or wall adjustment.

Smart home installation
For example, voice-activated lights, doors and blinds.

Organising an Appointment
One of our qualified occupational therapists will arrange a convenient appointment time.

The assessment will typically take 1-3 hours and our clients have the opportunity to voice their preferences and needs.
Preparing NDIS Documentation
The therapist will navigate the NDIS requirements, ensuring that the necessary documentation is provided and funding is secured.
Liaising With Builders
Our team has built relationships with local providers to ensure all clients in rural and remote areas can access home modifications.
